Section 5: Library Sections

You will note there are four main sections listed on the left-hand side of your library:

My Digital Designs
Downloadable Designs
Portfolio CDs
Search Results

My Digital Designs

These are images that you own. They include the 50 initial images that are pre-loaded into the software as well as all images you have downloaded from Silhouette.

You may customize this portion of your library to add or remove folders. Doing so will allow you to categorize your images into subfolders for customized organization. To create a new folder, select the "My Digital Designs" section or sub-folder and click on the "Add Folder" button. You will then be prompted to provide your desired folder name.

Once your new folder is created (in the example below, we have created one called "Animals"), you may drag and drop images from your main "My Digital Designs" library section into your subfolder. Images will remain in your main "My Digital Designs" library as well.

With subfolders and contained images, you may:

Change the name of your selected folder by clicking on "Rename Folder".
Delete designs individually or in groups you have placed into your subfolder by selecting your image or images and clicking on "Delete Design(s)".
NOTE: They will still exist in your main "My Digital Designs" folder and any other folders you may have placed them into.
Add a sub-folder within any user-created folder by clicking on "Add Folder"
Completely remove your folder (and subsequently all subfolders and included images) by selecting the folder and clicking on "Remove Folder".

Please note that you cannot delete your main "My Digital Designs" folder or any images from your "My Digital Designs" folder. The program will not allow you to do so for your own safety. :)

Downloadable Designs

These are images available to purchase and download individually from Silhouette. This section is categorized to match the actual shopping section that can be accessed by clicking on the "Purchase Online" button. If you are connected to the Internet, the images shown as available will update themselves to show what is available and stay current with each release.

You may see images in this section that are also owned in your "My Digital Designs" collection. If you attempt to open or access an image you do not own, the software will inform you that the image is not owned and ask if you want to visit the purchasing section to learn more about the image or download it. If opt to continue, you will be brought to the image's description page where you may select to add it to your shopping cart to download.

Portfolio CDs

These will show a collection of all Digital Designs available on the Silhouette Portfolio CDs, regardless of whether or not they are owned. This is a way to show what else is available to purchase as a collection of images through Authorized Silhouette Retailers.

You may access these images if you have purchased and installed the particular Portfolio CD you are attempting to access. If you attempt to open or access an image you do not own, the software will inform you that the image is not owned and ask if you want to visit the Silhouette website to learn more about the Portfolio CD offering. If you opt to continue, you will be brought to the section of the Silhouette website which displays the Portfolio CDs. You are not able to download these images and will not be given the option to do so. They are only available to purchase from Authorized Silhouette Retailers.

Search Results

This is a section that will allow you to search for images that you own or that are available to purchase so you can quickly locate desired images.

When visiting the "Search" section of the library, you will be able to enter in any keyword in the entry field next to "Search Designs". You will also note that there are two searchable categories from the drop-down menu. "My Digital Designs" will search all owned images. "Downloadable Designs" (as shown below) will search the entire library of downloadable images (not Portfolio CDs).
