Frequently Asked Questions

The current software is compatible with PC only. However, we realize there are many who are waiting for a Mac version of the Silhouette software and ability for Mac users to download our Silhouette Digital Design images. We are actively working to produce such a version. We do not yet have an exact date for when this will be available but are projecting a release of Fall 2010. If you have not already done so, we would encourage you to sign up for our email newsletter to stay informed on any updates at the bottom of the our home page.

While the Silhouette software is not yet compatible with Macintosh computers at this time, the Silhouette/Silhouette SD hardware can be connected to a Mac and will cut user-created designs from Adobe Illustrator software (not included). A plug-in is required and available for download in the support section of our website. The plug-in (compatible with Adobe Illustrator 8 through CS4) does include a basic instruction guide on cutting through Illustrator. Please note, however, that we cannot support third-party software not created by our company. We are only able to support the Silhouette/Silhouette SD hardware and Silhouette software.

You may be able to run the Silhouette software on your Mac if you have a program that runs Windows through your Mac computer (such as "Parallels" or "Boot Camp") and a copy of Windows. If you are able to do so, you would have full access to the software and "Purchase Online" section for additional images as you would on a PC.
